BIG BRAIN'S EYE FOLLOWING VENUS CONJUNCTION

In continuing with the series of images showing the conjunction of planets Venus and Jupiter with the star Aldebaran in the constellation Hyades near the famous 101 skyscraper, this new view was captured on Monday July 9th, 2012. A Canon PowerShot S95 was handheld with 12.8mm telephoto focal length at f/3.5 and a 1/80th second exposure. ISO 500 was used for this view just prior to the rising sun. 101 is located to the East, as seen from Area 51. Area 51 is a Big Brain Observatory and Laboratory located very high up on a skyscraper rooftop peak and has viewing access to the entire sky. Previous conjunction images were obtain on July 3rd and July 8th. However, today, due to some cloud cover, only one planet is visible.
